Memphis - Prepare for Impact!


The above image was taken from the Memphis area doppler radar just a moment ago.  As you can see, a line of intense thunderstorms with potentially damaging wind gusts of 60-70 mph is moving rapidly Eastward toward the Memphis area.

The San Antonio Spurs are playing (or should I currently say, being beaten by) the Memphis Grizzlies in Memphis this evening.  Severe thunderstorms with potentially damaging winds will be impacting the Memphis area during the next  hour.  This could be a potentially dangerous situation as fans are trying to head home from the game during severe storms.

Isolated tornadoes also cannot be ruled-out with this line, especially associated with that part of the line which is outlined within the white circle in the image below:


This activity is moving East to East/Northeast at 40-50 mph.
