Severe Weather Update - DFW Metroplex Region

**Update 11:13 PM CDT:


An intense thunderstorm is moving into the Ft. Worth Metro Area at this time.  This storm is currently centered 3 miles Northwest of Azle, and moving East at 30 mph.  A core of very large hail, up to baseball size, is indicated by radar about 3 miles Northwest of Azle.  This hail core will continue tracking East across Northern portions of the Ft. Worth Metro Area, including Keller, Haslet, Southlake, Grapevine and Coppell over the next 30-45 minutes.

Damaging wind gusts of up to 65 mph are also possible, and radar continues to indicate signs of low level rotation, currently located over the Azle area.  This storm could produce a tornado or tornado-like wind damage at any time.

If you are in the path of this storm, seek immediate shelter, preferably below ground, until threatening weather passes your area.

The above image was just taken from the Abilene area radar.  A severe thunderstorm is currently centered 25 miles Northwest of Ft. Worth, and moving East at 35 mph.

Large hail up to golfball size and wind gusts of 60-70 mph are indicated with this storm.  In addition...low level rotation continues to be indicated with this storm from time to time.  Isolated tornado development cannot be ruled out.

On its present movement, this storm will track across the Northwest and Northern sections of the Ft. Worth area during the 11 o'clock hour.

This is a dangerous storm.  If you live in the path of this storm, seek immediate shelter indoors and stay away from windows.
