Emily Reemerges As a Tropical Depression...

The afternoon flight of a Hurricane Hunter aircraft has once again found a closed low-level circulation within the remains of former Tropical Storm Emily.  Since the winds are below Tropical Storm force, the system has been deemed Tropical Depression Emily at this time...

At 4pm CDT, the center of Tropical Depression Emily was located about 70 miles West/Southwest of Great Abaco Island, and moving North at 8 mph.  Maximum sustained winds are 30 mph, with a minimum central pressure of 29.88 inches of mercury.

Other than the heavy rains and gusty winds currently being produced across Northern portions of the Bahamas, Emily will largely remain out to sea and have little no to impact on any land areas.

Computer forecast models generally predict that Emily will move North and then Northeastward, eventually passing to the Northwest of Bermuda by Monday afternoon.  The "official" National Hurricane Center (NHC) forecast is below:

Emily is currently forecast to reach Tropical Storm strength by tomorrow, but will likely begin to weaken again by Monday as the system moves Northward into gradually colder waters and less favorable upper-level conditions.
