Strong, Gusty Winds Moving into Comal County TX...

The above image is a split view of the New Braunfels, TX area radar. The left half of the image is the radar in reflectivity mode (i.e., rainfall) while the right half is the radar in wind velocity (wind speed and direction) mode.

The area of bright green colorations on the wind velocity side (circled in red) shows where the radar is estimating wind gusts of 40-50 mph at this time.  This band of strong, gusty winds is lifting toward the North/Northeast at 25-30 mph, and will overspread Comal County through 9am CST.

Folks in this region may want to secure loose, lightweight objects that are outdoors before the gusty winds arrive.  The gust of wind will be followed by torrential downpours of rain.  Radar currently estimates that rain is falling out of this particular activity at a rate of about 1 inch per hour.
