Mid-Morning Severe Weather Update: Outlook Largely Unchanged...

The mid-morning update of the severe weather outlook from the SPC was virtually unchanged from the early morning outlook. Please see my last post for additional information and more detailed graphics.

It continues to appear that the main severe weather threat will initially develop along and ahead of a cold front across southeast Missouri and/or eastern Arkansas by late afternoon or early evening, and then spread Eastward this evening and into tonight.

There is some question as to whether or not any thunderstorm activity will develop ahead of the main threat, along a warm front over Northern portions of Mississippi and/or Alabama later this afternoon.  Any such development would likely be isolated to scattered, with large hail the primary threat.

Watch for a more detailed update at midday...
