One or More Tornadoes Struck Poland on Saturday Evening

International media reports indicate that one person was killed and at least 9 more were injured on Saturday evening (local time) when a tornado (or tornadoes) struck the Kujawy-Pomerania and Wielkopolska provinces in Poland.

One or more tornadoes toppled trees and caused extensive damage to numerous homes and businesses across the region:

Power outages are widespread across the region, and many roads are impassable due to fallen trees and other debris.

Tornadoes are not unheard of in this area, and typically strike during the months of July and August.  This event, however, appears to have been particularly strong for the area.
